Which is the best game console to buy?

I was thinking Xbox 360 but then I looked at the failure rate. I thought that problem was fixed but I guess not. Wii and PS2 are great but I like the games for 360 better. Examples are Halo 3, Mortal Kombat, Soulcalibur, and NHL 2K9 or any arcade version sports games.
